She served in the Wayzata Public Schools from 1998 to 2015, and was honored as an Esteemed Teacher seven times by the district. Sarah taught many staff development sessions and extended courses to teachers, including her popular Mindfulness: For You and Your Students.

Sarah has had a personal mindfulness practice for many years, and describes mindfulness as life-changing. She firmly believes that teaching compassionate attention and self-care to students, teachers, parents, and families can change the world.

ABOUT BRILLIANT MINDFULNESS

Brilliant Mindfulness, LLC, offers innovative programs for schools, families, and businesses in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. Our mindfulness programs help students cultivate their focused attention and regulate the emotional stress that can interfere with learning. Our professional development offerings help teachers reduce chronic stress and burnout, and promote more effective teaching. We help parents find calm amidst the chaos of raising children. We assist businesses in promoting employee wellness.

What People Are Saying:

“Sarah is the real deal! No gimmicks, no pressure. She guides participants on a journey that is uniquely their own, using the latest scientific research to feed the brain, and gentle mindful exercises that feed the heart.”

Professional Development Coordinator

Wayzata High School

“My daily work often requires me to make quick decisions and ‘fix’ things. I am constantly problem-solving and often feel the weight of having to come up with a solution to make things better for others. In the short time I spent in Sarah’s class, I have become much more reflective. I have slowed my reactions and take more time to just listen and process.”

Gifted and Talented Teacher and Coordinator

“Sarah is an excellent instructor. She teaches in a really authentic way, and that makes it easier for me to want to try mindful practice myself.”
